Please click on the song titles below to hear a short sample of the type of music I play, which is mostly traditional Irish music. For weddings, I have a standard repertoire of Irish songs that I use for processional, recessional and unity candle-lighting or other special ceremonial sections. The songs below represent this wedding repertoire. Lately, I have also been playing more weddings using a classical repertoire. I hope to have these songs included on this page in the future. They will include portions of "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring," "Pachabel's Canon in D," "Trumpet Voluntary," and the traditional bridal march from Lohengren ("Here Comes the Bride"). If you are looking for primarily classical music for your event, then I am not the harpist for you. Please refer to my links page for some suggestions of other fine harpists who may be able assist you. If you want a special song that I do not already know for your event, there is an additional charge. Please be aware, however, that it takes me a long time to learn something well enough to be comfortable playing it in public; it's just one of my limitations as a performer. If time allows, and the song can be adapted to a Celtic harp arrangement, I am more than happy to learn it for you. Please note that these are "home recorded" samples, not professional studio recordings. Therefore, please forgive the less than perfect audio quality.
All musical arrangements below are by Sylvia Woods except "Spagnoletta,"
which is an arrangement by Kim Robertson.
- "Fanny Power" - This is the song I usually use as the general wedding party is entering. It has two sections to it, making it easy to extend or cut short as necessary.
- "Morgan Megan" - This is the song I usually use for the bride's entrance. It has a stately feel which lends itself nicely to being a bridal march.
- "My Love Is Like A Red, Red Rose" - A short piece suitable for candle lighting or other unity ceremonies or special sections of the wedding.
- "Spagnoletta" - A lively piece that makes a wonderful recessional.
- "Trumpet Voluntary" - A classical piece that works for either a processional or recessional.
